Key Points for Installing Diamond Grinding Cup Wheel

Special attention should be paid to the installation of diamond grinding cup wheels on the grinder. Because the diamond grinding cup wheel works under high-speed rotating conditions, it should be carefully checked before use, and no cracks are allowed. The installation must be firm, and should be statically balanced to avoid personal and quality accidents.

The inner hole and the outer circle of the wheel shaft should not be too tight. Otherwise, the diamond grinding cup wheel will easily burst due to thermal expansion during grinding, and it should not be too loose. Otherwise, the diamond grinding cup wheel is prone to eccentricity and loss of balance, which may cause vibration.

Generally, the matching clearance is 0.1~0.8mm, and the clearance of high-speed diamond grinding cup wheels should be smaller. When using flanges to clamp the diamond grinding cup wheel, the diameter of the two flanges should be the same, and their outer diameter should not be less than 1/3 of the outer diameter of the diamond grinding cup wheel.

Use thick cardboard or oil-resistant rubber as a gasket between the flange and the end face of the diamond grinding cup wheel to distribute the pressure evenly. The tightening force of the nut should not be too large, otherwise the diamond grinding cup wheel will break.

Note that the direction of the tightening thread should be opposite to that of the diamond grinding cup wheel, that is, when the diamond grinding cup wheel rotates counterclockwise, use the right-hand thread, so that the diamond grinding cup wheel will drive the nut to tighten under the grinding force.

If the diamond grinding cup wheel  is unbalanced, its heavier part always goes down. At this time, the position of the balance weight can be moved to achieve balance.
